VinFast VF 7 India 2026: Price, Variants, Range, Bharat NCAP, ADAS & Buyer Guide

The VinFast VF 7 is a five-seat electric SUV currently listed in India from ₹22.99 lakh ex-showroom. Its five India variants span front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Bharat NCAP records five-star adult and child protection ratings. Choose the variant around your charging access, seating needs and budget, rather than treating its certified range as a guaranteed journey distance.

Current India price: what ₹22.99 lakh includes

VinFast India’s current VF 7 page lists a starting price of ₹22.99 lakh. This is the ex-showroom starting figure, not an on-road quotation. Registration, insurance, accessories and any charging installation must be checked separately.

Full current variant-wise pricing should be checked with VinFast India or an authorised dealer before booking because third-party price tables differ. This guide omits an unverified per-variant price matrix. Ask for a dated quotation naming the exact trim and any offer conditions.

Earth, Wind and Sky: the India variant structure

The India line-up comprises Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity. Wind uses front-wheel drive; Sky adds a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. Infinity is a trim designation, not a separate electric powertrain category. Check the current brochure for its exact equipment additions.

Current VinFast India product-page specifications
Variant Usable battery Power / torque Drive Listed range
Earth 59.6 kWh 130 kW / 250 Nm FWD 438 km
Wind / Wind Infinity 70 kWh 150 kW / 310 Nm FWD 532 km
Sky / Sky Infinity 70 kWh 260 kW / 500 Nm AWD 510 km

The current product page explicitly labels battery capacity as usable. The September 2025 India launch release described the larger pack as 70.8 kWh. We retain the current usable-capacity figures above and do not assume that the two labels are interchangeable. Vietnam’s 75.3 kWh specification is not used.

Certified range and charging: plan beyond the headline

The India launch release identifies the range figures as ARAI-certified. They provide a comparison reference, not an independent real-world road test. Speed, weather, air-conditioning, load and charging reserves can change usable journey distance.

The current India page lists AC charging up to 7.2 kW. It lists DC charging at 100 kW for Earth and 110 kW for Wind/Sky. VinFast’s 10–70% charging figures are 24 minutes for Earth and 28 minutes for Wind/Sky. These are manufacturer figures for a partial charging window, not a promise for every charger or a 0–100% charge.

Before purchase, confirm parking permission, the proposed installation and your regular charging route. This ownership and resale comparison helps keep running costs in the context of a longer ownership period.

Bharat NCAP: five-star protection, with applicability limits

Bharat NCAP’s VF 7 assessment records 28.54/32 for adult occupant protection and 45.25/49 for child occupant protection. Its tested model/variant field names Wind and Sky. Consult the assessment’s ratings-applicability list for your exact variant; a rating is not a guarantee against injury in every collision.

VinFast India’s launch material lists seven airbags. Confirm the current trim’s safety equipment and child-restraint compatibility rather than inferring equipment from a foreign-market photograph.

Level 2 ADAS is assistance, not autonomous driving

VinFast lists Level 2 driver-assistance equipment, with availability depending on variant. Its India launch description associates the full suite with Wind and the higher configuration. Do not assume that Earth’s cruise-control entry means identical ADAS equipment.

The driver remains responsible for observation and control. This guide does not claim tested ADAS performance on Indian roads. Ask the dealer to explain the functions, operating limits and warning behaviour on the exact vehicle you intend to buy.

Vehicle warranty, battery cover and charging offers

VinFast India’s September 2026 warranty explanation states 10 years or 2,00,000 km, whichever comes earlier, for both the VF 7 vehicle and high-voltage battery. Coverage is subject to the applicable warranty terms, with the first invoice as the reference date.

Ask for any free-maintenance offer in writing before booking, including its time and kilometre limits, included jobs and exclusions. Do not treat warranty cover as a promise that every scheduled service or consumable is free.

VinFast’s charging extension runs through 31 March 2029 on the V-Green-developed-and-operated network. It does not mean every public charger is free, or that household charging has no electricity cost. Confirm current eligibility and participating locations.

Dimensions and everyday practicality

The current India page gives dimensions of 4,550 × 1,893 × 1,596 mm, a 2,840 mm wheelbase and 537 litres of boot space. These are published specifications. This guide has not independently measured luggage capacity, rear-seat comfort or parking manoeuvrability.

Take the family members who normally travel with you to a viewing. Check entry, seating position, child-seat installation and your actual luggage. If seven seats are essential, the separate VF MPV 7 guide addresses the three-row model; VF 7 and VF MPV 7 are different vehicles.

Alternatives: compare the requirement first

A suitable comparison starts with seating, charging and budget. A plug-in-hybrid family-vehicle overview is a different powertrain question; verify its current India availability before treating it as a showroom alternative. The Grand Vitara guide and Innova Hycross guide offer hybrid and seating comparisons rather than identical EV substitutes.

Who should shortlist it—and who should wait?

Shortlist the VF 7 if five seats meet your needs, dependable charging is available and you can confirm convenient authorised service support. Test both the configuration you can afford and the features you will actually use.

Pause if you need seven seats, cannot secure routine charging, or would be relying on an undocumented delivery, service or warranty promise. Confirm service locations and delivery timing directly; this guide does not reproduce network targets as current completed infrastructure.
